Zwischenstand 22.2.12

Und so sieht es derzeit mit meinen Projekten aus: / My WiPs this week:

-beim Tuch habe ich mit der ersten Reihe Durchbruchmuster begonnen/ I reached the first row of the border pattern for the shawl

-die Bluse hat eine feste Blende und der Ansatz des Kragens ist mit Schrägband versäubert (ein Arbeitsschritt, der mir aus unerfindlichem Grund nicht leicht fällt) / the blouse has button bands and I covered the seam allowances in the neck with bias tape (I don't know what makes this step so difficult and time consuming, I'm glad I'm past it now)

-es gibt einen neuen Anlauf mit dem Leinengarn vom letzten Sommerurlaub, das neue Muster passt viel besser zum Garn und den Farben und geht super gut von der Hand / I started a new project with the linen yarn I bought last summer, the project I took with me on holiday then just didn't work out, so I finally frogged it two weeks ago and now everything is just falling into place

We finally started to work on the kitchen cupboard we scored at the move of a friend, it has been spray painted blue  (including the windows). We started by scubbing it and taking out the glass. Our goal is to paint it white and add clear glass windows (or clean the blue ones, at least my flatmate thinks this could be done).

The yarn for the shawl is

The yarn for the shawl is absolutely lovely. Makes me think of being deeply in a forest.
I absolutely think that you can clean the existing glass. Some paint shops stock razor blade scrapers for just this kind of thing, We use ours to clean our ceramic cooktop as well, but that's another story.

Thank you, the yarn is Jawoll

Thank you, the yarn is Jawoll Magic form Lang Yarns. It's also incredibly soft. The problem with the existing glass is that it isn't plain but has a raised flower pattern, so scrapping isn't an option, but my flatmate has chemicals in mind... I don't like the pattern enough, so I wouldn't have bothered. ;)

I love the photos and the projects - I think the cupboard will look amazing when it's done :)

Thank you!

Thank you!

I love the blue yarn in the second pic.. and what a score with the kitchen cupboard. I love to do DIY projects around the house and you seem to have found a lovely project to do.. Good luck with it.

Thank you, it was hard

Thank you, it was hard getting the colour right in the picture, this is the best I could do...
