Zwischenstand 23.1.13
Immer wieder Mittwochs... Da ist er also wieder mein kleiner Rückblick auf die Fortschritte der letzten Woche. Genäht habe ich so richtig immer noch nichts dieses Jahr (Knöpfe annähen zählt nicht!), aber in den nächsten Tagen wird es trotzdem mal wieder ein paar Posts zum Thema geben. Dafür komme ich mit meinem Strickprojekt gut voran. Ich habe inzwischen mit dem Vorderteil für "Enchanting" begonnen und bin fast mit dem Bündchen fertig. Ziemlich unspektakulär, aber immerhin. Und ehrlich gesagt nutze ich auch nicht meine ganze Fahrtzeit in den Öffis zum Stricken. A Game of Thrones ist halt einfach viel zu spannend! Auch wenn ich die Verfilmung des ersten Buchs und des nächsten ja schon gesehen habe. Inzwischen bin ich auf Seite 235 (von 807) des ersten Buchs. Zur Erklärung: aus dem ersten Buch der Originalversion (die ich lese und ganz handlich ist) sind im Deutschen (nach guter alter Goldmann'scher Unsitte) 2 Bücher geworden. Das war schon damals bei der Drachenlanze/Dragonlance so - ein Schelm der dabei ans Geldverdienen denkt.
Another wednesday, another update on crafty things. I still haven't sewn on a projeect, sewing on a button doesn't count in my eyes. But if your are interested in sewing - stay tuned, I will post a bit some sewing-related stuff in the next couple of days! So at least I'm making progress with my knitting project. I finished the back piece of "Enchanting" and started the front. I'm almost done with the ribbing. Not that impressing, I know. And to be true, I spent a lot of the time I could have been knitting (like in public transport) reading. It's hard for me to put down A Game of Thrones, even though I know what will be happening as I already saw the series for the first and the second book. But that doesn't matter, the book just sucked me in. And I'm happy to be reading the original version. Not only because it's always nice to read the original, but also because it's much easier to carry around with me. Even though they split each book into two, when translating them into German, they layed them out in a rather big type and thick paper so that the paperback of the first half is twice as big as the whole English first book.

I have neither seen nor read Game of Thrones, but I've heard some really amazing things about it! I'd like to do both. The sweater progress is coming along nicely!

Oh ja, die Game of Throne
Oh ja, die Game of Throne bzw. A song of Ice and Fire Bücher. Ich hab mir das auch im Deutschen angeschaut und mich hat nicht nur die Tatsache abgeschreckt, dass es im Deutschen immer gleich zwei Bände pro englischem Band gibt, sondern auch dass es heftige Kritik an den Übersetzungen gab. Bin mittlerweile mit Band 3 durch und habe Band 4 schon dastehen. Aber da sich die Bücher manchmal echt ziehen, hab ich zur Zeit eine Pause eingelegt. Aber nach dem nächsten Buch, könnte ich doch wohl Band 4 anfangen...
