Sweater knitting and other progress

With a little less soccer than last week I naturally made a little less progress with my sweater knitting. But nonetheless I am just a few rows away from finishing the body. It will then have to wait for the sleeves to be completed and then it’s going to be circular yoke time! I’m planning a two-coloured design of my beloved twisted slipped stitches forming the pattern. You can tell, that I’m already looking forward to it, can’t you!? But first it’s knitting the plain sleeves, which is good timing as there are still a couple of (hopefully) exciting games ahead and I won’t be in the mood to count through them…

Besides watching soccer and sweater knitting, I managed to read a few more chapters of “My Name is Red” by Orhan Pamuk. I’m nearing its end and once again I find myself slowing down, so the joy of it lasts longer. Thank you all for your comments about the book last week! It’s great to be able to spread the word about a good book and I’m overjoyed that I was able to do it in a way you related to.

Last but not least – this post is an update on my sewing! Yes, I finally made it happen and cut my blue linen blouse. I also cut and ironed on the interfacing already. After some hard thinking I cut the interfacing without seam allowance, because I thought this might be too much stiffness when all I want is just a little more body. This is some rather lightweight linen. And you know what: This blouse might actually happen this summer!

  1. The sweater looks like it’s coming along nicely! I finally sat down and watched a soccer game yesterday. Am a little sad the US team lost, but it was fun to watch! I’d love to learn how to sew better…there’s so many things I could make if only I knew how!

    • Thank you. Being able to sew your own clothes is great. But be careful, it spoils you, too – I tend not to buy clothes, because “I could make this myself and it would fit better”, but I seldom find the time to… 😉
